COLD ENOUGH FOR A CAMPFIRE?

One of my favorite things at camp is the campfire. For me campfire means bringing a group together in a sense of community. It is also a great place for singing and eating. So as the leaves change and the weather cools I want to share with you some of my favorite camp fire things!

Edible Fire
Each girl can build her own fire/snack. She will learn how to build it and what safety measures she must take

Supplies:
Paper plate/napkin

Small cup w/ water (water bucket)
Fork (rake)
Toothpick (Match)
M&Ms (fire ring)
Potato sticks (tinder)
Pretzel sticks (kindling)
Pretzel Logs (fuel)
Red Hots (sparks)
Candy Corn (fire)

Make sure you pull your hair back - that's the safe way. Fill your cup with water and lay your fork next to your plate. Now make a larger circle on your plate out of M&Ms. Make an A with your fuel, lay your tinder inside the logs in the top corner of you're A. Light a match and add some sparks. When the small fire has started you'll add kindling, don't forget to leave room for air flow. Now you have fire (add the candy corn.) Your fire is now complete.  If you wanted to put it out you would splash water on it and rake out the coals.
